A Day in Egypt

We've been learning about Ancient Egypt so we decided the perfect time to do our projects would be while Grandma was here visiting. We constructed out own Nile River, completed with the Nile Delta, alligators and birds, and planting our crops after the river flooded its banks. Now, a couple of weeks later, we have 3-4 inch grass growing along the river.

We wrapped Grandma as a mummy!

Then Tyler decided he'd take his turn...

We made Lego pyramids.

We also wrote in hieroglyphics (though that was a different day - and no pics!)
(The boys had a couple of friends over to play Saturday. I decided I'm not too sure it's "normal" for 4 little boys, ages 4-8, to have the subject of their pretend play robbing the pyramids of Egypt to find treasure! The other boys are homeschooled too and have already learned about Ancient Egypt. :) Fun!

We use Story of the World for history. This is our first year. So far we really like it.
