Vacation 2008

We spent last week in Flagler Beach, Florida. We flew into Orlando on Saturday, April 26th. The boys loved the flight. Tyler didn't remember the last time we flew (two years ago) and was really excited and loved it! He especially loved the take-off and landing and was enthralled with the tiny cars, trees, roads, etc. and thought fly in and through the clouds was really cool!

We stayed in a house on the beach with my mom and dad as well as Brad, Courtney, and Mason. The weather was perfect. The house was big and comfortable, with enough room for everyone to spread out. We had our own pool in the back yard. It was great!

The plan was to take one day in Sea World and the rest of the time just relax and take it easy. The boys couldn't wait for Sea World and looked forward to it and saved their change for about the last six months.

Sunday and Monday were great. We alternated between walking, playing, sitting, and reading at the beach with hanging out at the pool. Then, Tuesday morning Tyler woke up throwing up. He was REALLY sick all day. Wednesday he ran a high fever and slept ALL day. By Thursday we were fervently praying he would be well enough to go to Sea World Friday. His fever broke Thursday afternoon finally and he was able to start eating a little bit. He was still really weak come Friday, but we rented a stroller for him and were able to go. He made it through the whole day and enjoyed it, but got sick on the way home. We are SO thankful that we got to go. The boys (and their mom) were going to be really disappointed otherwise!

Most of the week we spent tag-teaming taking care of Tyler. Thursday afternoon Mom watched Tyler so we could take Brandon out for lunch and to play putt-putt. His vacation wasn't quite as fun without his favorite playmate so we wanted to do something special with him.

I have tons of pictures to post and I hope to do so over the next few days.

Poor Tyler! I'm glad he was at least able to enjoy the flights & Sea World. I'll be praying that the virus doesn't make it's way through the family...
